Originally from Long Island, New York, Zannie Carlson developed a passion for justice early on. She went to Kenyon College and studied sociology, and volunteered time and giving back by teaching underprivileged youth and building houses.
She attended law school at American University in Washington, D.C., graduating cum laude in 2013, and moved immediately to Washington State. After passing the bar, she dedicated the majority of the next six years to representing hundreds of clients in the criminal justice system, advocating for people charged with crimes as simple as misdemeanors to some of the most violent felonies in Washington state.
Through this work, she has learned to work well under pressure, manage a demanding caseload, and be a voice for those undergoing some of the most stressful events of their lives. In her spare time, Zannie enjoys playing with her dog, Peanut.
